In Ephesians 6:1-4 we are now looking at the second category of relationships that require submission and a lot of work - the area of family - specifically children with their parents. The principle that governs these verses is that A God-honoring family must work diligently to live in harmony with one another!
In v. 1 we see that 1) CHILDREN HAVE ONLY ONE COMMANDMENT THAT THEY MUST KEEP WHILE UNDER THEIR PARENT’S AUTHORITY. Under this we see  a) Children must obey their parents. Furthermore, we see that i. Their obedience is in the Lord, not in their parents.
