Listen "Your Joy Must Be Guarded | The Summer of Joy | ECC"
Episode Synopsis
Thanks for joining us this week as we continue our summer journey through Philippians! In Philippians 3:1–11, Paul urges believers to rejoice in the Lord—but not without a strong warning: be on guard. Our joy is easily threatened when we place our confidence in status, accomplishments, or spiritual performance. Paul reminds us that lasting joy can only be found in Christ, not in what we’ve done but in knowing Him deeply. This week, we're reminded that joy must be guarded. Not by striving harder, but by letting go of false security and holding tightly to Jesus. When we count everything else as loss and make knowing Christ our greatest gain, our joy becomes secure—unchangeable even in life’s hardest seasons.Scripture ReadingPhilippians 3:1–11 — Take time this week to read or re-read this passage and reflect on how God might be calling you to guard your joy by rooting your life in Him.Reflect & Respond– Have I placed my faith fully in the finished work of Jesus Christ alone?– Have I released my grip on my own good deeds as the basis for being right with God?– Am I actively committing my life to knowing Jesus more deeply as my Lord?Stay ConnectedLooking to stay connected this summer?
