It’s easy to feel adrift, lost amidst the waves of uncertainty and the storms of trials.  But fear not, for we have been given a map, a compass, a Northern Star that shines brighter than any confusion or doubt.  I’m talking about God’s Word.  It is the cornerstone, the bullseye, the
central axis around which our entire existence revolves.  It is not just a guide; it is the very essence of direction and purpose for our lives.
As Jeremiah 10:23 reminds us, it is not within man to direct his steps.  Our wisdom, without the Word, is as whimsical as the man in the moon.  We must
integrate this humbling reality into the core of our being, for without it, we are as lost.
It’s one thing to acknowledge God’s Word when it aligns with our desires, quite another when it challenges our fleshly comforts.  When the path God points us toward doesn’t fit our earthly desires, suddenly, our flesh claims to know better than the Divine.  But true wisdom lies in surrendering, even when every fiber of our being resists, trusting that God knows the way through the valley of the shadow of death.
Psalm 119:105 declares, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”  This isn’t about mere words; it’s about living a life that resonates with the emotional depth of truly loving and needing God’s Word.  It’s about feeling the dread of being without it and the joy of its presence.
So, as we delve into today’s discussion, remember, it’s not just about knowing the pitfalls of denominationalism or the errors of others.  It’s about drawing nearer to God, about being so close that Satan finds no room to wedge in doubt or temptation.  Join me, as we explore what it means to live out our faith with God’s Word as our compass, to embrace the training it offers, and to grow into the Christians we are called to be.
