Thanks!Revelation 10 A mighty angel comes down from heaven, clothed with a cloud, with a rainbow over his head, a face like the sun, and feet like pillars of fire. He holds a small scroll that is open in his hand. As he stands with one foot on the sea and one on the land, he cries out with a loud voice like a lion. Seven thunders respond, but John is told not to write what they say. The angel raises his hand to heaven and swears by the eternal Creator that there will be no more delay. The mystery of God will be fulfilled when the seventh angel sounds his trumpet. John is then told to eat the scroll. It tastes sweet in his mouth but turns bitter in his stomach. God’s plans have always been certain, and His timing was perfect in bringing past events to completion. The angel declared that there would be no more delay, and the mystery of God was finished just as He had promised. The fulfillment of these events shows that God keeps His word and accomplishes His purposes. When John ate the scroll, it was sweet in the mouth but bitter in the stomach, revealing the joy and sorrow that often come with receiving God’s truth. Although these judgments have already happened, the message remains: God’s response to unrighteousness is protection for the innocent but judgment upon the world. We must preach Jesus to bring people to Him before it is too late. All-knowing God, we praise You for Your perfect wisdom and faithful fulfillment of Your promises. As You revealed the mystery of Your plan, we are reminded that nothing escapes Your control. Like John, help us receive Your word with open hearts, even when it brings both joy and sorrow. Give us courage to proclaim Your truth boldly, trusting that You are just and good. May we live with reverence, knowing Your purposes have been fulfilled and Your kingdom continues to persist. Strengthen our faith and keep us grounded in Your word, so that we may serve You with confidence and peace. Thought Questions: Revelation often mentions strong angels carrying out God's avenging will. What do you believe about the presence of angels today? God’s justice is a comfort to His people. But how is God’s judgment both bitter and sweet? How does that motivate you evangelistically? Do you believe God created the heavens and the earth, with the right and power to sustain or destroy them? How does that impact you?
