It’s 1942 and Harry Lime has returned to New York. He went to his hotel, supposedly incognito, and made himself available at the bar. Many drinks later he is approached by a beautiful woman. She tells Harry that he can save an old enemy from a blackmail plot. Turns out it's the governor, who offers Harry $15,000 to free him.
