Listen "6: Learning ENGLISH, School Edition: Maks and Maria's Classroom Chats"
Episode Synopsis
Hello and welcome to English-Yes-Please PODCAST!
.
This episode will be very special as I invited both of my children Maksymilian and Maria to have a conversation about: SCHOOL.
.
If you wish to find out how the education in UK is like from the perspective of my teenage kids then this is an episode just for you!
.
.
Some of the questions used in our conversation:
👉 What is your favourite subject in school and why?
👉 Have you ever participated in a school play or talent show?
👉 What is the most challenging assignment or project you've had 8n school?
👉 What is your favourite memory from your time in school so far?
👉 Have you ever had to give a presentation or speech in front of the class?
👉 Have you ever been in a school club or organisation?
👉 What advice would you give to someone who is nervous about starting a secondary school?
.
And many more 😃👍.
.
During our chat Maks and Maria were challenged to use some topic related vocabulary and here is the list of them:
💥 Classroom - a room where students and teachers gather for lessons.
💥 Assignment - a piece of work assigned to students as part of their coursework.
💥 Homework - work that students are required to do outside of class.
💥 Test - an examination designed to evaluate a student's knowledge or proficiency in a subject.
💥 Grade - a score given to a student's work, usually represented by a letter or number.
💥Textbook - a book used as a standard source of information in a particular subject.
💥 Notes - a record of what was said or learned
💥 GCSE - General Certificate of Secondary Education.
.
.
OUR ADVICE FOR WHEN LISTENING TO OUR PODCASTS:
1. Listen to our conversations and focus firstly on general understanding;
2. Listen once again and this time focus on new vocabulary - identity it and use dictionary to discover the meaning;
3. Depending on your current level - but we encourage you to rather than focusing on repeating single words, focus on repeating the whole sentence after us!
