Shannon started her business as a side hustle in 2009, and after health issues, went full time in 2016. She was working in a job where she responded to emergencies, and it was too much for her nervous system. It came to the point where she needed to choose between work and her health - a big part of her identity was her job, so walking away was hard. When she was pregnant, she was told he was incompatible with life. One of the things that she leaned on during that time, was pulling out her camera and seeing things differently. When her son was in the NICU, she photographed him and the things around himWhat she does is very emotionally draining, lets herself feel emotions. She cries and that is okay with her. She felt shame at first but then realized that is just how she works. And allows herself to do that. She says that she cannot separate herself from her work, and the day she does she knows that is when she should stop doing it. 1.
