Have you ever gotten one of those emails that says, "share this if you love Jesus?" Yeah, it might seem kind of dumb, but part of us probably feels guilty not forwarding it on—because what if Jesus really will love us less if we don't?? This kind of thing might sound silly, but it points to a larger issue of making our faith in Jesus superstitious instead of sincere. When we go through the motions in the hopes of earning God's love, we have a kind of superstitious faith. But what if we did things like reading our Bibles and going to church not because we wanted to earn God's blessings, but because we sincerely want to know more about Him? Let's make our faith sincere, not superstitious.
