In the modern church, we often face two extremes regarding the spiritual world:Denial: Believing that demons are a superstitious relic and no longer relevant to Christian teaching.Exaggeration: Seeing demonic influence in everything, leading to excessive fear and powerlessness.Both extremes lead to the same result: we miss the essential truth of the Gospel. It is often said that Satan tries to either convince people he does not exist or he exaggerates his power so people live in fear. So, what was Jesus’ approach?In Mark’s Gospel, Jesus never debates the reality of evil; he simply dealt with it and set people free. He brought balance by demonstrating absolute, immediate authority over the forces of darkness.In this session, we will turn to Mark to see the full range of activities attributed to evil spirits and, more importantly, witness the decisive way Jesus interacts with them. Our goal is to dispel the paralyzing lies of fear and instill a confident faith in Jesus's overcoming power.We want our church to reflect Jesus, where the authority of Christ is proclaimed, and demons are expelled so that people can live life to the full—free, whole, and empowered.
