Along the way, we watch the haphazard life of Norton and Chub, an odd duo who quickly find themselves in trouble. After their sentencing, Norton and Chub learn that they are in a nursing home unlike any other. Dave Springs is federally funded, constantly guarded and surrounded by razor wire. Here, the residents don’t feel like residents. No one chose to be here. Everyone is court ordered. They feel like prisoners, and in many respects, that’s what they are.
