Our guest, Evalyn Gleason, is senior program manager for TEACHNY.  TEACHNYis a state-level subsidiary of TEACH.org. The organization has extended its annual impact goal by registering more than55,000 prospective teachers on its platform. Evalyn shares the how TEACHNY is collaborating with the New York State Education Department (NYSED) and educator preparation programs (EPPs) across the state of New York to recruit teachers into the profession. She explains that TEACHNY is learning and responding to the different contexts influencing teacher shortages district-by-district. Examples of partnerships include grow-your-own, apprenticeships, and scholarships as strategies employed to address the teacher shortage.
