We are often told that chimp and humans share 98% of their genes but this claim is based on comparing ONLY the 5% of the genomes that (wait for it) are similar! And when whole genomes are compared the similarity between humans and chimps drops to as little as 70%. In this episode we see that what matters is not so much the genes as the way they are expressed, which differs profoudly between humans and chimps. No proof of evolutionary "common descent" is found here.
