When the world is turned upside down, how are the believers supposed to keep calm and carry on? Jeremiah makes it clear to the remnant of Judea who are living in fear that trusting in God is never optional if you are to be the covenant people.

I would like to note three corrections that need to be pointed out in my sermon:
1. Locution does in fact mean the meaning of words in a particular culture
2. Illocution refers to the way words are formed and transformed through different genre like poetry or narrative
3. Mizpah that is referred to in the text is most likely the one in Benjamin's territory and not the one located in Gilead on the East of the Jordan
