What are idioms?   Idioms are groups of words in a specific order that form an expression whose meaning is different from the individual words.  Most idioms are fixed in their form, and cannot be changed or varied.  The best way to understand an idiom is to see it in context.  Idioms are usually special to one language and do not usually have a correct translation into another language.     I hope that this episode will “shed light” on all you need to know about English idioms, and that, by the time you finish these episodes, you’ll be saying “English idioms?  A piece of cake!”
