Work that an editor does to improve the formatting, style, and accuracy of text. Copy-editing has three main levels according to American Association of Editors and Writers: Light (Mechanical): Mostly formatting, typos, grammar and terminology Medium: Word usage and tightening sentences Heavy (deep): Changing sentence structure, words, terms, etc. Copy-editing is different than content editing, which is a much more out-of-the-box job description.
