We're getting back around to the 'Chel. Ugh, how embarrassing is it that referring to the NHL series of video games as "Chel" is part of hockey vernacular? Or that people will refer to celebrations as a "celly" without feeling intense internal shame? Or that we've abandoned giving out cool hockey nicknames in favor of going with what NHL players call each other, which is some derivative of their name with "er" or "y" at the end. Way back when, Georges Vezina was nicknamed "Chicoutimi Cucumber". Nowadays he'd be called Vezzer or something.
Anyway, by some standards we're old, but by other standards we're young, like how neither of us were alive when this draft happened, but we have fond memories of many of the players involved in the 1988 NHL Draft. And we discuss those, as well as some players we don't really care about.
