Listen "Episode #75: Inequality, Asthma and the Coronavirus with Dr. Donna Carston"
Episode Synopsis
The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is frightening for all people. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, those with moderate to severe asthma could be at higher risk of having a severe case of the illness. COVID-19 can affect your respiratory tract (nose, throat, lungs), cause an asthma attack, and possibly lead to pneumonia and acute respiratory disease. In this episode of Dr. P on the Pod, Dr. P talks with Dr. Carsten on why racial minorities are disproportionately affected by asthma and why they are at higher risk for serious COVID-19 complications.
