Lay Leader Van Starner offers our Scripture lesson reading from Luke 6:20-26. In the sermon, John Willingham focuses on a moment of teaching by Jesus that sounds something like the Beatitudes, but has a very different feel. Instead of naming nine blessings as he does in Matthew’s gospel, Luke tells us of a day when Jesus speaks of four blessings and four woes.
