And most would likely answer no due to the popular opinion that stereotypes are too general and therefore not a sound basis for making evaluations or judgments. Obviously, to go on stereotypes alone, for it has been said, 'stereotypes exist because stereotypes do exist’, is lazy thinking at best and at times offensive… which can be inaccurate and even dangerous. But are they valid? Can they be used positively? Keith thinks so. Lee not so sure which he backs up with some very relevant points. Are stereotypes valid is a question that has more to its answer than simply being dismissed with a yes or a no.
