Listen "The Relentless Enemy"
Episode Synopsis
Reflect upon the following verses of the Qur’an: 2:208, 6:142, 35:6.
It is vital to be aware that everyone is in a struggle against Shaitan. He blames us for his failing, his misguidance, and we must be wary of falling into the same trap.
Don’t think that because you are on the right path that you won’t suffer from any trials, tribulations or battles, for indeed your enemy will constantly try to misguide you. You have to be aware, hold yourself to account, keep your guard up, know your enemy, and learn how to protect yourself.
Shaitan’s goal for us is to have us to fall into kufr “denial of the truth”.
Allah has given us some tools with which we can seek protection. These tools must be used with SINCERITY AND UNDERSTANDING for them to be effective, and include:
- Morning and evening suplications (dua), with your heart present in the supplication, with mindfulness and being present. Ponder their meaning of the supplications and seek the protection with sincerity.
- True belief consisting of Tawheed and sincerity. The more you learn about the names and attributes of Allah the more protection you will have. Have belief in Allah and reliance upon Allah.
- Remembrance of Allah (dikr). For every obligation Allah has given us a measurement, except for the remembrance of Allah. Do it openly and as much as you can. For every obligation there is an excuse if you cannot do the obligation, but not with dikr. Muslims are to remember Allah always. Always be mindful of Allah.
- The best of dikr is the reading of the Qur’an. The next is to do what Allah commands you to do, and avoid what Allah commands you to avoid. When you do, you remember Allah.
Surat Al-Bakara should be recited in your homes. Although you can play a recording, reading it is better. Read Ayat Al-Kursi before going to bed as it is amongst the best of protections.
“I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from any evil that he created” then nothing will harm him in that place until he leaves that place.
Satan often works through incrementalism. He misguides you through small easy steps, making each one seem fair or acceptable in turn. Do not become complacent.
Shaitan’s attacks are relentless and therefore we have to beware of his methods and be wary of his intentions. Study Islam and learn how to protect yourself from Shaitan.
