Episode Synopsis
Organic Farming is a component of Climate Smart Smart Agriculture but obtaining the right organic pesticides and fertilizers is challenging. Farmers currently rely on locally mixed of tobacco leaves with red pepper, human urine and water to combat pests. Dr Richard Kanyarukiga from the University of Rwanda’s College of Agriculture, Animal Sciences and Veterinary Medicine describes climate-smart agriculture as one component of sustainable agriculture.
