Merriam Webster defines Tools of the Trade as “a set of tools or skills that are necessary for a particular kind of job or work.” An article I read included the words also the “training and knowledge one needs to accomplish a task. Doctors have stethoscopes, otoscopes, and ophthalmoscopes, carpenters have hammers and nails, hairstylists have shears, curling irons, and combs, teachers have whiteboards, markers, and computers. To effectively do what you need to do, you need to be equipped with the right tools.Like all these professionals, we need the right tools for our journey in life as well.We are told in John 16:33 “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”Trials and tribulations are a part of life. Jesus not only told us we are going to go through trials but He also told us that we can take heart because we have peace in Him and that He has overcome the world.
