Episode Synopsis
Memorial of St. Clare of Assisi, 1194-1253; lifelong friend of St. Francis, who placed her in a Benedictine convent, where she was joined by her sister Agnes and others; they lived a simple life of great poverty, austerity, and complete seclusion from the world; she served the sick and washed the feet of the begging nuns; as she came from prayer, her face was so shining that it dazzled those about her; ill the last 27 years of her life, she was once unable to attend Vespers, and was granted a vision of the service–and thus, she is the patroness of television Wednesday of the 19th Week in Ordinary Time Office of Readings and Morning Prayer for 8/11/21 Gospel: Matthew 18:15-20
