Pål "Strangefruit" Nyhus is a true pioneer of the Norwegian electronic music scene. A defining force since the early 1990s, he has played a key role in shaping the eclectic and forward-thinking sound of Nordic electronica, and is widely regarded as a major influence by a new generation of artists—including Prins Thomas and Todd Terje.

From 1997 to 2002, Strangefruit hosted his own radio show on the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK), championing cutting-edge music for a national audience. In 2002, he was voted Best Norwegian DJ by a jury of industry professionals, music journalists, and readers of Natt&Dag magazine.

Nyhus is also a longtime member of Nils Petter Molvær’s Khmer band and co-founder of the acclaimed project Mungolian Jetset. Known for their wildly imaginative sonic universe and boundary-breaking remixes, Mungolian Jetset rose to international prominence with their signature blend of cosmic disco, jazz-laced electronica, and surreal conceptualism. Their 2009 double-album We Gave It Away, Now We Are Taking It Back—released on Smalltown Supersound—compiled the cream of their expansive remix work alongside a selection of original tracks, cementing their status as one of Norway’s most visionary electronic acts.

With over three decades behind the decks, Strangefruit is a master selector known for blending historical and contemporary rhythmic styles into rich, unpredictable DJ sets that defy categorization.
