Silva and Douglas discuss, among other things, the importance and challenge of transposing movement for bodies of different abilities, the choice of the word “transposing” and how it is borrowed from music, the need for a university dance program that welcomes disabled students, and the development of the Dance and Disability Affinity Group with Judith Smith (found of AXIS Dance Company) and Dance/USA.
