The Shadow Locked EP hits off with smooth, driving use on A1 Shadow Locked. The dynamic, harmonious succession of sounds griping to rhythmic baselines evokes a profound funky, dane into the night kind of feeling. A2. Kraftwerk am Strand is wonderfully playful track whose sensitivity to the beautiful female vocals. B1, Theory of 3/4/3 Aplha is a pure Techno Soul track whose origins must be in the depths of the soul, warm dance grooves which remind us of the heavenly Mode M (Void Records, GB) although Dan’s music can’t be so easily compared. His style is very much his own. Distinctly Curtin. The futuristic Track B2, You’re so Dirty, is a self generating cleverly composed soundscape which reinvents itself through clear, driving beats. The vinyl comes full circle with an exciting and funky vision of the future in which Dan Curtin, in terms of dance music, clearly shows he’s in a class of his own.
