Episode Synopsis

*Daily Voice Devotional with Niyi Adekunle* *Tuesday 20th May* *Faith Feeders and Faith Drainers 2* There are things that strengthen our faith, and there are things that weaken it. When we consistently surround ourselves with the right influences our faith grows stronger. But when we stay around negativity, it drains our faith.Think about the story of David and Goliath. Each day, Goliath came out to threaten and intimidate he Army of Israel. His words created an atmosphere of fear that drained the Israelites’ confidence in God. But David was different. He refused to let Goliath’s threats affect him. Instead of feeding on fear, he stood on faith. He feed his faith through the power of testimonies and with that faith, he defeated Goliath.Faith-draining influences are real. The danger lies in not recognizing them. Often, our thoughts and responses are shaped by the understanding we already have. If that understanding is faulty, then our response will be faulty and that will negatively impact on our faith.Galatians 5:6 (TPT), “When you’re joined to the Anointed One, circumcision and religious obligations can benefit you nothing. All that matters now is living in the faith that works and expresses itself through love.”Paul emphasizes that in Christ, external rituals no longer matter. What counts is faith working through love. This means love is a major feeder of faith. Walking in love—towards God and others—nurtures and strengthens your faith. You can’t grow in faith if you harbour offense, hatred, or unforgiveness. Faith doesn’t thrive in bitterness. Jesus was often moved by compassion, and that love empowered His faith to work miracles for others. So, if you want your faith to grow, nurture your love walk. Stay away from negativity and surround yourself with things that build you up spiritually. Let love rule your heart.I pray that as you grow in love, your faith will become stronger, deeper, and more effective in Jesus’ name.God bless you, enjoy your day.
