In John 11, we see that Jesus was “deeply moved in his spirit and greatly troubled.” Some have interpreted this phrase to mean that Jesus was overcome by GRIEF. This is partially true, but we must also understand this phrase to mean that Jesus was filled with ANGER. So what/who was the object of Jesus’ anger? There are actually two key objects of Jesus’ anger that we must properly identify if we wish to fully understand the person and work of Christ.
