Listen "A dragonfly"
Episode Synopsis
Today I saw a dragonfly, reminding me of a story by Doris Stickney of Water bugs and Dragonflies. Water bugs were wondering what life after the pond is like and, after discussion, promise that whichever of them goes next up a lily stalk and out of the water would return and tell them what it is like. However, when the next water bug finds himself transformed into a dragonfly, having climbed out of the pond, he can no long descend into the water with his new form. This story is an allegory on life after death. On many occasions Jesus told His disciples that there can be life after death. If we believe in some of Jesus's words of wisdom and in His miracles, then why not believe in all He said? If we don't believe in all Jesus said, then, as Christian author CS Lewis inferred, we are actually suggesting that Jesus lied some of the time and/or was deranged. It doesn't make sense to half admire Jesus. Amongst many other words, Jesus said of Himself: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16).
