A new episode of Husky Talk with a man who lettered in UConn Football and UConn Basketball. Darryl Woods was a tremendously gifted athlete. When I was a freshman, I lacked toughness, I didn’t have the work ethic needed to play college football at the highest level. The man who had enough and pushed me on a Sunday workout, was D-Woods. He was tired of watching me get by and went off, taught me unless you bring your best each day, you will fail your team. Woods went on to play basketball for 2 seasons which was an amazing achievement. He believed in his talent and ability when some didn’t think he had a snowballs chance of making the basketball team. D loved basketball and got his opportunity to walk on and made the most of it. He is very happy now with a family, he is a grandfather, and also an accomplished dog breeder.
