Men and women struggle with making themselves right before God. Works, baptism, and rituals are ways people strive to find peace with God. People use statements such as "I am a good person", "I try to do good deeds for others", and "I try to keep the Ten Commandments".  When you are the starting point for trying to achieve righteousness with God, you will be terribly disappointed. The Lord is the starting point for righteousness and justice. He is the only One who can bring broken humanity to Himself...this contentment is revealed only through Jesus Christ. Picking up from the  lessons on Propitiation in Romans 3:25, Phil will begin in Romans 4:1-6 teaching on Abraham as an example of living by faith in God's Word.
