The essence of creativity is the desire to play with the boundaries, the edges, the places where, what is supposedly true or good meets the opposite ideas of falsehood and wrongness. It is not so much aiming to transgress as challenging the definition of transgression because sometimes what is demonized are outmoded blocks to society’s whole-hearted life and growth. Not that society will thank artists for putting its comfortable boundaries into play.
