Listen "Type Ed // Type Lessons Make us Stronger"
Episode Synopsis
TypeEd began out of necessity. While running their design studio, teaching, and jurying design competitions both Rachel Elnar and Michael Stinson noticed a “lack of sensitivity” towards typography in design from designers in the industry. Typographic subtleties communicate magnitudes towards the overall interpretation of the piece that is being designed.
In 2012 Rachel and Michael founded TypeEd, whose mission is “to educate designers, students and practitioners on the fundamental skills of typography. Graphic designers deserve a strong typographic foundation to practice typesetting, improve the quality of communication, and preserve the integrity of design.”
