The inherent danger in being the chosen people of God is that we begin to believe that we are chosen because of something good in us. We may start to think there is something inherently better in us than others, and that we were chosen by God for a reason found in us. This kind of pride and self-righteousness is not only offensive to God and others, but it robs us of the joys of knowing God’s love and grace.
