In this episode, I will be instructing families how to create a ten frame to use at home with small counting collections. Ten frames help students develop number sense. It teaches them to subitize and is a precursor to addition. They provide kids with a visual of numbers and give children experiences working with numbers. Ten Frames are a great tool that will help your child understand counting, place value (e.g. where the digit in a number is), adding, subtracting, and more.
