As you know, I am having my implants removed (explant surgery) Oct 12. For years I have felt sick, tired, had swollen glands, joint pain, chest pain and many other symptoms of an autoimmune disease. I recently had bloodwork that revealed that I have lupus. Lupus is one of the autoimmune diseases directly linked to Breast Implant Illness. Once a person receives implants, the body begins fighting the foreign object and creates abnormal antibodies that attack the entire body. Studies have shown the risk of getting an autoimmune disease increases between 600-800% in people with implants. In 1992 Connie Chung exposed how sick women were getting after having silicone implants and here we are, 60 years later (from the time implants have been created) and not much has changed. The FDA still doesn’t not approve implants and yet 2006 they created a legal shield to protect the companies that produce implants from being held responsible. I am not anti implants but as a consumer, you have the right to know what you are purchasing. Ask to read the pamphlet that will come with your implants so you can make a well informed decision.
