They offer a delicious and interesting alternative to sugary drinks or water for those who don't want alcohol. Bars and restaurants are taking mocktails seriously, crafting them with the same care as cocktails. The Mint-Basil Limeade is a refreshing example, mimicking a mojito but without the rum. This drink can be enjoyed as is, or easily converted into a cocktail with a shot of rum, vodka or gin.Ingredients:4 large basil leaves4 mint leaves1 oz simple syrup1 oz lime juice, freshly squeezedClub soda, chilled, to topGarnish: lime wheelDirections:Gently muddle the basil, mint and simple syrup in a shaker tin.Add the lime juice and ice, and shake until well chilled.Double strain into a Collins glass over fresh ice.Top with the club soda.Garnish with a lime wheel.
