Beloved, we live in a world where spiritual darkness seeks to infiltrate every corner of our lives and has infiltrated many churches. In our text today, Jesus describes a scenario of a man who was delivered from an unclean spirit.Yet, rather than filling the void left by its departure with the presence of God, the house is left empty, inviting the unclean spirit to return with seven others, leaving the man in a worse state than before.That spiritual void in every human being must be filled with something – either the Holy Spirit, a demonic spirit, or some idol a person pursues more than God. The enemy prowls like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Yet, we are not without hope.For the same power that delivered the man in this passage is available to us today through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit.
