Beliefs are powerful, personal, and shape our response to every situation. Acknowledging that beliefs and behaviors are connected is essential when attempting to disentangle beliefs from behaviors. Disentangling beliefs from behaviors is challenging. But, when we recognize the influence of beliefs on behaviors, the transformative possibilities are endless. We can learn to reflect on personal beliefs and utilize emotions as indicators. We can start with questions about teachers' beliefs on good instruction that can help uncover underlying beliefs.
