They are low in calories, which can help with weight management. Apples contain antioxidants, such as quercetin, which help reduce inflammation and protect against heart disease. Other antioxidants in apples include polyphenols, and flavonoids which help protect cells from damage caused by free radicals, reducing the risk of chronic diseases. Apples contain vitamin C which supports a strong immune system. Apples are loaded with potassium which helps with blood pressure. Studies have shown that consuming apples may improve bone health reducing the risk of osteoporosis and certain types of cancers, such as colon, breast, and lung.
