In today’s healthcare environment, especially given the reform measures coming on the horizon, it is more important than ever to recognize that you cannot survive, much less thrive, by being an island. This is true both at the organizational level as well as the individual level. No one can do it all alone. Nor should you want to. Just like in Wall Street mergers, joinings take place because there is efficiency to be gained by the partnerships. As such, we must constantly be on the watch for opportunities to forge these partnerships, referrals, efficiencies, etc to ‘build a bigger pie’ so we can ‘get a bigger piece’. We all can win, especially our customers!
