The shield of faith may be the final piece of the Armor of God we talk about, but it is by no means less important than the other pieces. Roman soldier's had shields that completely covered them, and in the same way, we need to carry the shield of faith in every aspect of our lives, to protect ourselves from the darts and arrows of the enemy.

Ephesians 6:16
16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
