Saint Matthias the Apostle was Judas' replacement. The book of Acts records that after the resurrection, the 12 disciples decided that they needed to appoint a replacement for the traitor Judas, and Matthias was chosen. Tradition records that Matthias was eventually martyred for his faith in Christ.
