In this weeks sermon, we explored the story of Mephibosheth (2 Samuel 2, 4, 9) and the transforming power of Gods grace. Mephibosheth, once feeling worthless and forgotten, was invited to dine at King Davids tablenot because of his merit, but because of grace. Like Mephibosheth, we often battle feelings of unworthiness, but Gods grace calls us to something greater.
When we resist Gods will in favor of our own plans, we create conflict within ourselves. But when we surrender to Gods grace, we find restoration, identity, and purpose. His grace doesnt see our failuresit reclaims us as sons and daughters, giving us full access to the King.
At our church, we want to be a community that extends this same grace to others. Just as David sought to bless Mephibosheth, we are called to seek out those in need of kindness, love, and acceptance. Gods grace is active, not passiveit changes everything.
