Welcome to episode 15!This episode features the amazing award-winning poet, artist and activist Fanta Ballo. As a true harlem native Fanta speaks to the heart of the experience of what it feels like to be young and growing up in today's world. In 2020 she became the first ever recipient of the Shawn Mendes Foundation's Wonder Grant to finish her amazing book of poetry "For All the Things I Never Got to Say". The grant is awarded to “young changemakers and creatives using their voices, visions & abilities to make positive change in the world,”. Besides teaching poetry to kids in her local community, she wants to create financial literacy classes for young people and she's finishing up her first album of spoken poetry, which we can't wait to get our hands on!This episode Fanta shares her journey and process from starting writing as a kid to studying economics, winning the Wonder Grant and taking the leap to own her truth and become a full time artist.
