At Chalk Eastbourne, we chat regularly with local digital professionals who have SO MUCH good advice and knowledge to share about getting into digital careers. We decided to produce a special edition episode of Chalk Talks for students and those looking to start work in the industry.
Presented by Donna Fielder and Sarah Cronk, this episode features:
Robbie Lees (1:55) who completed a digital apprenticeship and now works at marketing communications agency PRG.
Will Callaghan (3:46), Chief Executive Director at TechResort, a CIC that shares digital skills to improve lives.
Ethan Brierley (5:51) from TrueLayer who was inspired by the support and networking he did through TechResort whilst at college.
Tom Fielder (7:24), CTO at custom software company Switchplane, which is behind the Chalk Eastbourne initiative.
Steve Rackley (9:40), a recruiter who found there was a need for a digital community in Brighton and started up Silicon Brighton.
Seb Cox (11:10), animator and film director at Bubble Light Productions, who also teaches at Hailsham Community College.
Grace Prior (13:56), Programme Director at Silicon Brighton who led the Diverse Sussex initiative, which supports underrepresented groups in tech.
Stacey Pinkney (15:32), recruiter at Booksy, who came into the digital sector and joined the Eastbourne-based start-up 18 months ago.
Russ Miles (17:20), software engineer, author and speaker who has a wealth of experience running and working in startups in Silicon Valley and beyond.
