One of the first things we ask people when meeting them, is what they do for a living. In an age where we are intent on removing labels, is it passé for us to still ask this question? Is it just a question of interest, or are we using collected information to form opinions about others? Do we believe the career path or job someone chooses, inherently dictates who they are as individuals? In this episode, I talk about one of the first times I recall someone asking me what I wanted to be when I grew up, and how till this day it has influenced and shaped my perspective on character development, with the desire to focus on WHO we are and not WHAT we do.
