Listen "On Reason..."

Episode Synopsis

Is the faith journey irrational? Does it defeat logic with its tenets of the resurrection, life eternal, and a truth which exists beyond the senses? Some people hold to the notion that if they can't see it, smell it, or touch it, it doesn't exist. History is of course no assistance whatsoever to those who espouse this view, nor is any other study, since education appears to be all virtual, whether expressed in the opinions of a teacher, the writing of a text, or the creation of a digital file. Yet, we are called to "be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of El’ayim." How is it that such a thing is proved, if not by employing reason? The perfect will of Yah is something which must be rightly discerned, as it is written: "Judge not according to the appearance but judge with righteous judgment."Yet, is there any other scripture which gives us a clear measure of proper judgment and the use of reason? While the redacted scripture in the form of 66 books does not have an elaboration, the Cepher Millennium Edition does include a particular discourse on this subject in the Cepher Makkabiy Reviy'iy (4 Maccabees). Let's take a look at this discussion here tonight.
