About CAP Selects
Season 5 of CAP Selects is a weekly series showcasing the exceptional work of our Creative Audio Production & Sound Engineering students. During the second-year of study, students are tasked with writing a five-track album from scratch that realises a creative vision. An opportunity to explore any idea they choose – the only limitations to this brief is that one of the tracks must be collaborative and another must be covers or reinterpretations of original work.

This week is Laura's SHADE. Here’s what they said about their project:
“SHADE” is an experimental and eclectic compilation that merges electronic and organic sounds. It’s a homage to nature and the divine feminine. Laura’s mission is to create a balance between complimentary energies through sound and emotion. Natural/electronic, feminine/masculine, soft/harsh, dark/light, mind/body. Laura fuses musical influences with field recordings of nature and organic/virtual instruments that emulate it. As a whole, it is covered by a veil of dreaminess that gives the listener a chance to disconnect from this reality for a few minutes and immerse in a different one.
