The Bible tells us that out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. Something awakened in the heart of one of the thieves on the cross. In his final moments, he suddenly knew that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He came to this earth, went to the cross, and paid the price for all the wrong we’ve ever done. That’s what the Bible calls sin. Sin separates us from God, but Jesus took that upon Himself. And all that’s required of us is faith, just the simple act of believing that Jesus Christ died in our place so that we can be forgiven and have life. The thief believed while still in pain, still nailed to his cross, still surrounded by mockers. He looked at Jesus and said, “Lord, remember me.” What he was really saying was, “Don’t leave me behind, Lord. Take me with You.” And Jesus did. Let your heart believe today and say these words: “Jesus, remember me.” It’s time to pray.
